Our hospitals

We have worked with AccessAble to provide detailed information for all of our departments, wards and services at Guy’s Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, and Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Patients, visitors and staff can use the guide to find a whole range of accessibility information, such as where a department is located in relation to the main entrance, where car parking spaces are located, whether there are lifts to access other floors, whether a hearing loop is fitted at reception, information about accessible toilets and much more.

This website is run by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Private Healthcare, which is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

PDF documents
  • The structure of the content is not available to assistive technology which makes the content difficult to understand and navigate. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
  • The reading order of the content is not always logical which means the content of some PDFs is difficult to understand when read out by text-to-speech software. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We plan to identify and resolve as many of the issues above as possible by December 2020. Any new PDF documents and content we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 1 September 2020.

This website was last tested on 30 March 2020 by Nomensa who manually audited 11 pages against all level A and AA success criteria from Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. The approach to deciding on which sample of pages to test was based on the Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM).
