Dr Vinay Shivamurthy

Dr Vinay Shivamurthy was trained in paediatric rheumatology in Canada.

He worked as a consultant at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool before taking up the substantive post as a consultant in paediatric rheumatology at Evelina London Children’s Hospital in 2016.

Vinay is experienced in managing a full range of paediatric rheumatology conditions including juvenile arthritis, hypermobility, SLE, vasculitis, periodic fever syndromes, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and chronic pain syndrome.

He has an active interest in medical education and is actively involved in teaching and training doctors at all grades and the multidisciplinary team.

Special interests

Inflammatory connective tissue diseases including SLE, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile SLE, juvenile dermatomyositis, vasculitis, Kawasaki’s disease, periodic fever syndromes and other auto inflammatory conditions, chronic pain and rehabilitation in children, biomechanical pain, hypermobility.

Vinay completed paediatric training in the UK and a two-year Fellowship in Paediatric Rheumatology in Vancouver, Canada.
