We understand that the cost of private fertility treatment can be a significant financial investment. That’s why our fertility treatment pricing is transparent and honest, with no hidden fees and no unnecessary add-ons, in order to provide you with as much information as possible before you start treatment.
At the Assisted Conception Unit, our specialist fertility teams will help to build you a personalised treatment plan, tailored to your individual needs. Your consultant will discuss your care fees during your appointment, after which a quote for your treatment will be provided (subject to results of any pre-assessment tests) and full payment will be required before treatment commences.
Our finance team are on hand to answer any questions you may have around fees, and will guide you through the payment process to make it as clear and easy as possible.
You do not need a GP or hospital referral, get in touch today using our online enquiry form or phone us on +44 (0)20 7188 2300 to book an appointment and begin your fertility journey.
Our price lists will be updated from June 2024. Existing signed treatment cards issued by the clinical team will be honoured for 90 days from issue date.
NHS funding for selected fertility treatments may be available for patients who meet the eligibility criteria set by their local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). If you meet this criteria and are referred to us by your GP we can help you start the assessment process for the programme.
Each Clinical Commissioning Group has different criteria which will have to be taken into account before considering funding your treatment.
Funding for assisted conception may not be available if:
We can provide you with the specific criteria for your region. The ACU will apply for funding on your behalf, but the decision lies with your local CCG.
Your GP can refer you for treatment at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Assisted Conception Unit. All patients referred by a GP or hospital will be assessed for NHS funding once an initial registration questionnaire has been returned. We’ll apply for the NHS funding on your behalf and work with you to complete the documents that are part of your application. It usually takes up to six weeks for a CCG in London to respond to your request for funding.
If your CCG has a contract with us, you can start the process within six weeks (or less) from referral. The number of cycles funded vary according to CCG. Anything from one cycle to three treatments could be funded on the NHS.
Due to high demand for our fertility services we now have a waiting list. Please be assured that we are doing our best to see our patients as soon as possible to start their journey to parenthood. Our team will advise you on an estimated timeframe for the delivery of your fertility care.
If you are not eligible for NHS treatment, and are considering paying for your own treatment, our Assisted Conception Unit has its own eligibility criteria:
Patients over the age of 45 are required to have their first appointment with one of our senior consultants. At this appointment, the consultant will discuss your options and advise on the most appropriate treatment pathway which takes into account your individual needs.
This criteria is supported by evidence-based medical practice designed to maximise your chances of success. We will not put you through unnecessarily expensive, invasive and stressful treatments if we believe they are highly unlikely to succeed.
Prescriptions and medication charges are not included in package prices.
We recommend that ACU patients purchase medication through Fertility2U but there is no obligation to use this provider. We can provide private prescriptions if you wish to source your medication from elsewhere.
Approximate medication costs via Fertility2U are listed below:
Medication for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy can be sourced from Fertility2U, your GP or privately at a cost of approximately £150-£800
Please note medication is non-refundable and non-returnable. Prices are subject to change.
In exceptional circumstances we may partner with a third party to complete your treatment plan. Please rest assured that you will be fully informed of this and that we are dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety with external providers.
